A thought-provoking current issue concerns that grades are only way for students to understand how well they are doing and the only way to motivate them to work harder. However, some people believe that giving grades create a needlessly competitive environment and make students feel like they are only valued for their academic. Therefore, It is timely to consider the validity of this perspective. In the following sections, I will present my reasons for strongly agreeing with the statement. First and foremost, giving grades enable teachers to confirm which students understand the class. Generally, If people can’t estimate the score of each student, It would make educators confused. This is because they couldn’t find which students couldn’t understand in the past class. For example, when I was a high school student, actually, the teacher educated us on some profound subjects, but most students couldn’t understand, and nobody told the teacher their status, after examination, she realized they didn't understand.

To sum up, everyone may hold a different view on this issue. However, I indubitably support the perspective that giving grades would be advantageous when it comes to checking students' understanding.
