I firmly feel that nowadays people spend a great amount of time on personal interests. Because the majority of people avoid companies that don't ensure work-life balance. And government statistics provide evidence that all ages spend their money for their interests.
First of all, the majority of people avoid companies that don't ensure work-life balance. Generally, nowadays most people pursue their own happiness through hobbies and exercise. In addition, they realize what is the most important thing in human life. Thereby those people spend time on their own interests excessively. Accordingly, the episode in which people don't slave their shirts to their work. For example, when I was young, I had a few friends in my downtown. And I didn't like their mind which life is short so having to spend a lot of money during alive. It was felt that this was an insane mind. After passing a few years, I could check he was fired from the company, the cause was the thing that his attitude was very bad in the company.
